One attribute to boost your productivity

We are living in an age where getting distracted and being unproductive comes in naturally. Being unproductive is so much easier than trying to be productive. Yes, even trying to be productive is in itself difficult, so staying productive seems so… far out of reach.

A few years back, I was spending most of my days searching the web to boost my productivity, reading and viewing lot of things about productivity. Ironically spending so much time exploring productivity was in fact decreasing my productivity. From that experience, I learned one important thing, no matter how much to read about productivity, it will never be enough, you will never settle.

For being productive, we are always looking for an outside inspiration and other peoples’ productivity patterns. But that is only taking us more off the track.

You will have to find your own definition of productivity, your own sweet spot. You don’t know enough about others, so you can never be sure why a particular productivity method works for them.

So, let’s come back to that one attribute, that will help us identify our sweet spot and boosting our productivity. It is focus. Focus is the key, not only to productivity but also to understand ourselves better. No matter how talented or skilled an individual is, if there is no focus in actions, the talent and the skills are a waste.

Productivity is directly proportional to focus, if you are struggling with your productivity, keep aside everything and for the next 2 weeks, try managing your focus. Do only one thing at a time and make sure you are mindful about sticking to that one thing. In the next two weeks you yourself will realize how much you can get done in the same amount of time with the right amount of focus.

Stay Focused! and if you have more questions on productivity and how to stay focused, you can redirect your question to me on Twitter (@Paritosh_Pundir).
